Samuel Carter the elder of Ldn to Samuel Carter Jr of Belmont Co Ohio. Bargain and sale of house and 15a lot now in possession of grantor, adjoining Samuel Beans, Anna Gooding & others, as described in deed from Margaret Spencer (widow’s dower, Lot No. 7 in division of estate of Joseph Poulson dec’d) to said Carter.

Samuel Carter Jr & wife Mary Jane of Belmont Co Ohio to William H. Green and Daniel Elliott of Ldn. Bargain sale of above 15a.


Samuel Carter, Sr. bought land in Belmont and neighboring counties in Ohio. He apparently handed this land over to his son Samuel Carter. Jr,.  Along with Samuel Carter. Jr.,  came Joseph and their sister Eleanor Thornton-Carter. Eleanor had received the blessing of her father Samuel Carter Sr,. to marry Abraham Thornton according to Loudoun County's governmental website.
