Wilberforce graduates Eighty-five:

President W. O. Thompson of Ohio State University delivered the commencement address and he walked with President Scarborough of Wilberforce, at the head of the academic procession which formed at the library and marched to Galloway hall, where the exercises were held.

Dr. Thompson's theme was "The responsibility of the Educated Man in a Democracy." He spoke of the European war, and preparedness talk in the United States, and used these as a lesson in showing the students the need of preparedness for the life struggle.
